Have a go!

It is what it says on the tin.  This is your chance to get out on the water and it’s open to everyone.

Ever wanted to learn to waterski, wakeboard, kneeboard or wakesurf?  Perhaps you want to get out on the water with some friends on a tube or have a banana ride with friends, or learn to drive a boat? Whatever you do it’s a great day out and, at the same time you will be trying something new?

If can already do any of these sports and just want to ‘have a go’ then book in.

This is your chance.

We have all the kit you need, including wetsuits and buoyancy aids – all you have to do is turn up with a ‘can do’ attitude, your swimsuit and a towel and we’ll get you out on the water as quickly as possible. (Bring a coat and a hat in case of inclement weather).

You can come on your own or with friends and we can accommodate Corporate Events, Birthdays or Group bookings  – it’s much more fun to do it with friends.

You’re never too old and almost never too young to give it a go so why not book in? Contact us to make your booking.

What happens on the day?

After a short safety briefing, signing some paperwork and learning some basics on land you will pretty quickly find yourself in the water – and hopefully a little while later you will find yourself ON the water!

We will be with you all the way as our instructors have access to the ‘BBTalkin’ two way communication system – so at all times they can talk to you and you can talk to them.  It makes for a much better and more relaxed learning experience.

You will be accompanied on each activity by a minimum of 2 qualified boat drivers and for anything other than tubing one will also be a qualified Instructor/Coach.

Can my friends come?

Your family and friends are more than welcome – they can watch from the shore or the clubhouse and if there is room in the boat they just have to sign on for the day and they can come out in the boat as well.

Make it a party?

If you want to turn it into a party or group activity we can arrange food and non-alcoholic drinks accordingly.  If you want to drink alcohol you need to bring your own although we recommend saving any alcohol until you return from the water!  We have a gas BBQ that you can use for a small fee.

How much?

First thing to do is to join the club on a Day Membership* ticket – this will cost Adults £15 and Juniors (under 18) just £6.  If you are not going ‘in’ the water and want to ride in the boat then this is FREE (if you are with someone who is riding) but you still have to sign a disclaimer – as do all participants.

Tournament Lake charges are slightly higher at £20 and £11 respectively.

*NB: Visits are restricted to 6 a year after which you have to become a full member of the club – join here.

After you have joined the club the charges are:-

• Waterskiing, Wakeboarding or Wakesurfing – £20 Per person.

• Inflatable (Tubing) – £10 per person (Minimum 3 people)

All bookings are fully payable in advance. If for any reason we have to cancel then an alternative date will be offered. Please remember to set your Alarm and turn up!   ‘No-shows’ are not refundable.  Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your slot.

If you don’t want to book then you can simply turn up on the day to see if we have any slots available.  Please note that this is not always possible as your driver and instructor are volunteers drawn from our members so we strongly advise booking in advance.

Where do I sign?  Call in to the club or hit the ‘Contact Us’ button below and let us know the dates you are looking for, activity preferred, number of people and times etc etc.  We will get back to you and confirm the details.  ‘Have a go’  is available on most Saturdays (but not all) between 10am and 12 noon.  If you need some alternative times then by all means get in touch and we will see what we can do.

If you are on the lake on your own then you can head off in any direction but as soon as you are joined by another boat you must go round the lake in an anti-clockwise direction.
